3 FINALISTS will compete on stage prior to Queensrÿche to sing with the band later that night in the show, and the winner will be automatically entered in a national contest for a chance to be flown to Seattle, WA for the band’s homecoming show on March 1, 2008, where they will compete for the Grand Prize in a sing off against two other national finalists prior to the Queensrÿche show that night.

CHRIS DEGARMO RESURRECTS SPYS4DARIN

Good news from Chris DeGarmo!  You might recall back in 2001 when Chris along with members of Alice in Chain and Sponge formed the band Spys4Darwin?  That year they also released a 6 song EP called "Microfish".  As Chris explained to me, "It's a mixture of crunch-guitar driven, hard-hitting hooks and acoustic subtleties, featuring Alice In Chains rhythm section Sean Kinney and Mike Inez, former Queensryche songwriter/guitarist Chris DeGarmo and Sponge vocalist/frontman Vin Dombroski."

PAUL SPEER INTRODUCES OCULUS

Grammy nominated musician/video artist Paul Speer releases his latest CD/DVD project entitled Oculus. As one of the architects of the multi-platinum selling video albums Natural States and Desert Vision, he traveled down a different path on this release. That path lead to several locations in Italy: Rome, Florence, the Italian Riviera, Tuscany, and Sicily.

The Pantheon's Oculus (the opening on top of the rotunda) offers a portal to the open sky. This music video transports one through the Oculus and on to a remarkable visual journey, giving the viewer a unique look at Bella Italia. Shot in Cinema Verite style, it is a work of art that pays homage to the beauty and history of one of the most enchanting places in the world.

Paul composed a modern instrumental soundtrack (mixed in 5.1 surround sound) for each piece that evokes an extraordinary mood, which takes the viewer deep into each location for a consummate audiovisual experience.

Who wants to rock with the Ryche in the New Year?

Here's your once-in-a-lifetime chance to join the band on stage during their 2008 tour and ultimately win an opportunity to perform on the band's forthcoming CD to be recorded during the year.

Beginning in Aspen, Colorado on January 22, the band will embark on a U.S. tour covering over two dozen cities nationwide in support of their new CD, Take Cover, on Rhino Records.

Released on November 13th, Take Cover features eleven of the band's favorite cover songs.

What's your favorite song?

Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine?"

"Synchronicity II" by the Police?

Or Black Sabbath's "Neon Knights?"

How do you "play?"

It's easy!

Pick one of the three songs, practice up, get "the pipes" ready and get down to the radio station in your area promoting the contest in conjunction with the Queensryche performance in town (see www.queensryche.com for all current tour dates).

The backing track to each song will be provided by the station or via the Queensryche website.

After all contestants have been heard at (live in-studio performance), or by (song submitted via MP3), the radio station in their particular market, three winners will be selected to appear in the opening segment of the forthcoming concert.

After performing to a backing track, one winner will be determined by audience response via a decibel reader.

The winner will be brought back on stage with Queensryche later that night to perform the song during the set with the band!

None of the three will walk away empty-handed as each will receive tickets to the show, an autographed poster and copies of Take Cover, Mindcrime at the Moore and Operation: Mindcrime II. In addition, each will get a meet and greet pass to say hello to the band at the show.

No purchase necessary... just get on stage and sing your ass off!

The Queensryche tour promotion will be divided into three segments (i.e. first ten dates, second ten dates, last ten dates) with a winner from each segment being flown to the Ryche's hometown of Seattle to perform live with the band in early March.

THE GRAND PRIZE?

One of the three semi-finalists will be selected by the band to perform on their next CD!!!

Truly, an unbelievable once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
