MINDCRIME II - 18 SONGS & COUNTING

:: 12:06 ::

As the recording of Operation Mindcrime II progresses, word from the studio is that Wilton & Stone are in the midst of laying down guitar tracks with vocals shortly thereafter.  So far 18 songs have been completed.  Not sure if all 18 will make it to the release or not, but it looks promising.  So far we know of 2 tracks:  "I'm American" & "Hostage"... but perhaps you might already know of a third?  Could our own online store have given away a clue that no one has picked up on?  Sure, why the <HELL> not!

QUEENSRźCHE SIGNS WITH RHINO

LABEL TO ISSUE EAGERLY AWAITED SEQUEL TO OPERATION: MINDCRIME

LOS ANGELES—Rhino Entertainment is proud to announce the signing of progressive metal band Queensr˙che. The band is working on OPERATION: MINDCRIME II—the sequel to their platinum 1988 concept album, Operation: mindcrime, for release on Rhino early in 2006.

The announcement was made by Rhino Entertainment President Scott Pascucci. “We are excited to be working with an artistically ambitious and commercially successful band like Queensr˙che,” says Pascucci. “The original Operation: Mindcrime still resonates today and we are looking forward to releasing its sequel.”

“This partnership is a great fit for everyone,” says Queensr˙che vocalist, Geoff Tate. “Rhino has an amazing team and we are confident they will do a superb job with OPERATION: MINDCRIME II.”

Tate, guitarists Michael Wilton and Mike Stone, bassist Eddie Jackson, and drummer Scott Rockenfield whet the public’s appetite for OPERATION: MINDCRIME II earlier this year. During the quintet’s sold-out tour, Queensr˙che performed Operation: Mindcrime in its entirety for the first time in 15 years. The band just got off the road with Judas Priest and will be hitting road again this September/October—for a full itinerary visit www.queenryche.com. Rhino’s Senior Director of Marketing, Kenny Nemes, who brought the project to Rhino and has a longstanding relationship with the band, will oversee OPERATION: MINDCRIME II.

Since its formation in 1981 near Seattle, Queensr˙che has released eight studio albums and have sold more than 10 million records worldwide. Empire, the 1990 follow-up to Operation: Mindcrime, sold more than three million copies thanks in part to the enormous success of the songs “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman.” Released in 1994, Promised Land was certified platinum and featured the hits “I Am I” and “Bridge.” In a recent USA Today readers poll, Queensr˙che was ranked eighth on the list of "Greatest American Rock Bands Of All Time.”
