Simon Wright
Simon Wright was born in Oldham Manchester, England. After getting his first drum set at the age of 13, Simon, a self taught drummer, spent hours playing while listening to such legends as Cozy Powell, John Bonham and Tommy Aldridge.
His first professional gig was touring with the support act for Girl School at the age of 16 with the band A II Z on the British leg of the “Screaming Blue Murder” tour.  About a year Simon Wright was chosen to replace Phil Rudd and joined AC/DC.  Simon performed and recorded with AC/DC for about seven years and is featured on their albums:  Fly On The Wall, Who Made Who and Blow Up Your Video.
After leaving AC/DC in 1989, he met Ronnie James Dio. Hired as the backbone for DIO entering the 90′s, their first effort together would produce the critically acclaimed album, 1990′s Lock Up The Wolves.   He would go on to perform on six Dio albums and was a member of Dio until the untimely passing of Ronnie James Dio in 2010.
Simon Wright has also performed and recorded with Rhino Bucket, John Norum, Mogg/Way, UFO with Michael Schenker, and others.
Simon is currently performing with Dio Disciples.  In January of 2013, Simon was invited to perform and record with Queensryche.
