What is an Empire?
A local Empire is a group of Queensrÿche Campaign (fan club) MEMBERS, in the same geographical area, that can be in contact with each other on a regular basis.
The purpose for these local Empires is to bring together Queensrÿche fans and promote Queensrÿche awareness. As an Empire, you would also help bring new fan club members to the Campaign. You can do this a number of ways. There are no strict guidelines for how you go about it; you can generate your own ideas, or follow some of the examples that other Empires have been doing. Here are a few tips on how to become and maintain a successful Empire.
- Promote and recruit! Be vocal on the internet, at concerts you attend (not just Queensrÿche shows!), at work, at the drive-thru, at the bank, at the post office, in the grocery store. You get the idea. Share band news anywhere and everywhere you can. Do your best to bring fans to the Campaign and your Empire.
- Be there and volunteer! Attend any and all Queensrÿche shows in your area. Host preshow parties before your Queensrÿche concerts. Volunteer for street team duties. Empires can do fundraising in the name of Queensrÿche and your Empire for charity. Participate in any capacity Queensrÿche asks of you!
- Stay in touch! Check in regularly and participate on Queensrÿche.com and the forums so you can stay connected to all the latest news and happenings with your fellow Rÿchers. Members should check in occasionally with one another to keep the momentum going, brainstorm, and stay up to date about all things Queensrÿche. Gather for listening parties (especially at the time of a new Queensrÿche release!) or have a BBQ, etc to fellowship with fans.
- Be organized and share! Keep good records and update your roster. Keep track of your Empire’s accomplishments and share them with the rest of us. Stories and photos of your Empire’s experiences should be posted in the forums for all to see!
- Be creative and stay motivated! Think of ways to stay motivated and create buzz while you wait for Queensrÿche to come to your territory.
- Welcome all! The ONLY requirement of joining an Empire is being a Campaign member, so reach out and share your enthusiasm and love of Queensrÿche with everyone!
- Represent and have fun! Always remember the Empires are representatives of Queensrÿche. Be kind, courteous and respectful as you go forth with your Empirical domination! And while being a successful Empire requires some work, it can be a very fun and rewarding journey.
Every Empire is different. You can devote as much time and energy into your Empire as you see fit. Some make Empire-specific T-shirts, buttons, business cards, etc to use as recruiting tools. Some gather on a regular basis; some just when the band is in town. Some are gung ho and others are more laid back. Empires do not have to spend any money to get people interested in joining the fan club (Campaign). It’s really up to you guys how much time, expense, and effort you want/can put into your Empire. Empires are a great way to enjoy camaraderie and allow fans to give back to the band who has given us so much through their music.
