TIME TO GO “INSANIA” ONCE AGAIN AS QUEENSRYCHE’S GEOFF TATE AND THREE RIVERS WINERY ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR NEW WHITE WINE BLEND FOR 2010
INITIAL WINE TASTING AND LAUNCH TO TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO QUEENSRYCHE CABARET SHOWS IN SNOQUALMIE, WASHINGTON IN FEBRUARY
Hot on the barrels of his sold out “Insania” red wine signature blend, Queensryche front man Geoff Tate has announced a new collaboration with Walla Walla, Washington-based Three Rivers Winery (www.threeriverswinery.com) for a white wine blend of the same name.
The new “Insania” — an artfully balanced offering that shines with honeydew melon, pear and apricot — is a classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc (78%) and Semllion (22%) that will be available early next year for an anticipated price of $25 per bottle.
The initial tasting and launch of the new blend will take place at the Snoqualmie Casino in Snoqualmie, Washington on Thursday, February 4th and Friday, February 5th, 2010 in conjunction with Queensryche’s forthcoming performances of the highly anticipated “Queensryche Cabaret.” (heralded as “The First Adults Only Rock Show!”).
Crisp and lively, the finish of the “Insania” white lends itself to an encore performance with its bright, crisp acidity, leaving you wanting more…
“Insania” (a Latin word meaning insanity, irrationality, madness) has become a labor of love for Geoff Tate, who remains deeply involved with its development and looks forward to further collaborations with Three Rivers Winery in the future.
“Wine has been an important part of my life and the creation of Insania is yet another avenue to express my creativity and give my fans something more they can enjoy,” states Geoff. “I hope to keep producing wine as long as I enjoy drinking it… and that’s likely going to be for a very long time. May everyone enjoy this new white blend.”
“Insania” is certainly off to a good start as Geoff and his red wine signature blend were prominently featured in the March 31, 2009 issue of Wine Spectator (online version available at http://www.winespectator.com/webfeature/show/id/Wine-Talk-Geoff-Tate_4436).
Cheers to “Insania” for years to come!

ABOUT EDWIN MCCAIN:
Blending equal parts folk, soul and rock, platinum-selling singer/songwriter Edwin McCain has signed with Vanguard Records and will release a new studio album next spring. Currently in the new OMG Studios, which he co-owns, in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, McCain is working with producer Noel Golden (Messenger, Scream and Whisper) and band members Craig Shields (keys, sax); Larry Chaney (lead guitar); Pete Riley (guitar, vocals); Dave Harrison (drums); and Lee Hendricks (bass).
Since his 1993 debut, McCain has garnered the attention of millions with the top 10 smash “I’ll Be,” and the Diane Warren-penned top 40 hit “I Could Not Ask For More,” and as a tireless troubadour whose rapturous live performances regularly sell-out. In May 2005, McCain performed “I’ll Be” on The Dr. Phil Show, which was voted the “Best Wedding Song” by over one million viewers.
The seeds for McCain’s blend of southern soul and acoustic storytelling were planted in Greenville, South Carolina, where he was born and raised, and still resides. In 1993, he formed the Edwin McCain Band and released Solitude. A quartet of albums on Lava/Atlantic Records followed, starting with Honor Among Thieves (1995), the breakthrough album Misguided Roses (1997), which featured “I’ll Be,” and Messenger (1999), which included “I Could Not Ask for More,” also featured in the film Message in a Bottle, that drove Messenger to RIAA Gold Certification. In 2001, Edwin’s last recording for Lava/Atlantic, Far From Over, was released. In 2003, McCain teamed with ATC Records to release Austin Sessions, and in the summer of 2004, DRT Entertainment released Scream and Whisper.
Founded in 1950 by Maynard and Seymour Solomon, Vanguard Records became one of the world’s most prestigious folk and blues labels of the ’60s, releasing records by such legendary artists as Doc Watson, Joan Baez, The Weavers, Buddy Guy, and Mississippi John Hurt. Purchased by Welk Music Group in 1986, Vanguard continues today to pursue its vision of releasing classic recordings of the past while also signing an eclectic and impressive array of distinctive singer/songwriters. Its current artist roster includes Deana Carter, Hootie & the Blowfish, Blues Traveler, Mindy Smith, Garrison Starr, Carbon Leaf, Patty Larkin, Victor Wooten, BeauSoleil, Ian Tyson, Peter Case, among others.
Queensryche are currently on tour in support of American Soldier with special guest Lita Ford. Brutally honest, graphic, and hauntingly real, Queensryche latest release,” American Soldier” will captivate you from the opening track to the grand finale’. Queensryche are no stranger to a concept album having released Operation Mindcrime in 1988 and have never shied away from controversial subject matter. American Soldier finds Queensryche and lead singer Geoff Tate taking on the perils of war, the good, the bad and the ugly. You will find nothing pretentious and no stone left unturned on American Soldier.
American Soldier features twelve tracks that are carefully orchestrated with a vast array of melodic melodies combat hard driving riffs, fast and furious drumbeats and outstanding vocals by Geoff Tate.
Geoff Tate of Queensryche has checked in RockMusicStar.com to discuss the current American Soldier tour, War, his Insania Wine line, and what it was like working with the Soldiers for one of Queensyrche most brilliant albums to date “American Soldier.”
RockMusicStar: Geoff, Thank you for checking in with RockMusicStar.com. Queensryche is currently on the road in support of American Soldier. I understand that Edwin McCain joined you onstage last night. How did that go?
TATE: Yes, he was out to eat and see the show. So we asked him if he would like to do a song with us. He did a beautiful song,” I’ll Be.” That is the fun of being on tour. We love to bring musical guests onstage with us.

Guitarist, Parker Lundgren, will be joining the guitar instructors at Moore Brothers Music at the end of his tour with Queensryche in mid-November. Parker has been touring throughout the world with Queensryche for much of 2009 and will now be teaching here at Moore Brothers Music in between tours. In addition to his skills as a musician and instructor, Parker brings a unique skill set as worldwide touring professional. Many students often ask how to make it in a rock band. Parker’s experience will help give students unique insight as to what it takes, and what it’s like, to play and tour with one of the northwest’s most legendary rock bands. In addition, Parker has extensive knowledge of playing styles in the rock genre and has shared the stage with many famous rock bands including Motley Crue, Motorhead, Chickenfoot, Dream Theatre, Dragon Force, Tesla, Manowar, and many others in over 30 countries worldwide. QUEENSRYCHE TO ENLIST SERVICES OF LITA FORD FOR AMERICAN SOLDIER TOUR DATES BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 15TH
THE QUEEN OF HEAVY METAL TO PERFORM BRIEF SONG SELECTION DURING QUEENSRYCHE SET
QUEENSRYCHE — who have been touring since late March in support of their newest effort American Soldier (Atco/Rhino) — will be taking The Queen of Heavy Metal, Lita Ford, on the road with them for over two dozen dates beginning October 15th (see full itinerary below).
Ford will hit the stage during the QUEENSRYCHE set to perform three songs including her Top 10 Billboard hit (performed with Ozzy Osbourne), “Close My Eyes Forever,” which she will duet with QUEENSRYCHE front man Geoff Tate.
For all songs, Lita will be backed by QUEENSRYCHE — Geoff Tate on vocals, Michael Wilton and Parker Lundgren on guitars, Eddie Jackson on bass and Scott Rockenfield on drums.
“We’re elated to have Lita Ford performing with us,” comments Geoff Tate. “I have been a fan of Lita’s as long as I can remember and look forward to the upcoming tour with her.”
The feeling is mutual as Lita comments, “I’m so excited about how we’re doing this tour. It’s a really cool way to do a show. I’m looking forward to getting out there and seeing my fans again as well as meeting Queensryche’s fans. It should be a real fun time for all.”
Earlier this month, the video for QUEENSRYCHE’s new single, “Home Again,” made its worldwide debut on Military.com (the largest military and veteran membership organization) and can now be seen on the band’s official website at www.queensryche.com. The video features photos submitted by service members from all over the world.
As for the song, itself, it’s become a fan favorite along the tour. Performed by Geoff Tate and his 11-year-old daughter Emily, “Home Again” examines the emotional toll of war from two perspectives — Geoff singing from the soldier’s point of view and Emily singing the point of view of the child left behind.
Prior to the performances with Lita Ford, QUEENSRYCHE will be joining Chickenfoot (Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith) beginning Friday, September 25th, for three consecutive California performances in Berkeley, Valley Center and Universal City, respectively.
Also on the QUEENSRYCHE horizon is the forthcoming ShipRocked Cruise (www.getshiprocked.com) which sets sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida (to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Grand Cayman) on November 15th for a five-day music festival on the sea. Those on the cruise will have an opportunity to be a part of a private QUEENSRYCHE-hosted wine gathering and drink Geoff Tate’s wine, Insania (www.threeriverswinery.com). For an advance donation of $20, fans will have access to the special onboard event. All proceeds of the wine party will benefit the National Military Family Association, an organization that QUEENSRYCHE has been involved with since the inception of American Soldier.
Drink Geoff’s Tate’s Wine, Insania and Donate to the National Military Family Association During the ShipRocked Cruise
Queensryche will host a private wine party for ShipRocked passengers during the cruise this November, to benefit the National Military Family Association. Guests can come drink Insania and party with Queensryche, and donate to a great cause all at the same time.
ShipRocked passengers who wish to attend this special onboard event will need to contact Amy at Three Rivers Winery, to make a $20.00 donation in advance of the cruise, in order gain entrance once on the ship. Seating is limited so please call right away. Of course you must already be booked on the ShipRocked cruise to enjoy this event, so visit www.getshiprocked.com for cabin reservations and additional info.

Tomorrow Military.com will premiere the new Queensryche video for Home Again.
During the recording of American Soldier, Geoff Tate spoke about the making of the song… “So the song Home Again is about those feelings of separation that people feel when they’re away from their families; and they’re in a situation that’s dangerous, with that question, “will I make it back home again.” I can kinda relate a lot to this being on the road, being away from my family….”

Having grown up listening to the music of Queensrÿche throughout the early 80’s all the way through to the 90’s – they always ranked as one of my fave bands. Easily. With classic albums such as ‘The Warning’, ‘Rage For Order’, ‘Operation Mindcrime’ and ‘Empire’ – they were second to none.
To be perfectly honest, I haven’t really kept up with the band of late – it just has not been the same since Chris Degarmo left the band – and I was even considering not shooting tonight’s gig as simply put, I had lost interest in them.
But throughout the past week whilst I was debating on whether to shoot them or not – I went back through the band’s discography (see above) and was reminded, once again, just why I loved this band…..
